Woman charged with making terroristic threat against school over bond vote

MONTGOMERY – A Walden woman is charged with the felony of making a terroristic threat to the Valley Central School District.

Montgomery Town Police arrested Alice Lubitz, 63, of 126 West Main Street in Walden following investigation of the incident that occurred around 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday.

The threat was allegedly made in anger of a school bond issue vote.

Police said by the actions of the threat, the voting process was disrupted and town police responded to a lockdown and maintained a security presence.

By 11:21 a.m., Lubitz was identified as the suspect and taken into custody, the lockdown was cancelled and there was no further apparent threat to the school district.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed, police said.
