Molinaro backed by construction council

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro has been endorsed by the Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council comprised of 28 local unions.

Molinaro, a Republican, is facing a challenge in his bid for re-election this coming November from Democrat Joseph Ruggiero.

“We appreciate Marc’s commitment to and recognition of organized labor in Dutchess,” said James Malcolm, president of Carpenters Local 279. “Utilizing people making a fair standard and living wage is truly a commitment not just to the workers, but to the region and labor force as a whole.”

Molinaro, meanwhile, said he has learned over his years in public service that “you can’t accomplish anything on your own; you must find ways to work with people inside and outside of government to find solutions to our most pressing problems, to build relationships that spur innovation, and to foster trust as part of layng a strong foundation.”
