ALBANY – Senator James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) announced the restoration of funding for the 39th Senate District’s Extreme Winter Recovery funds that help local governments repair local highways and roads.
“Municipalities in the Hudson Valley are constantly under budget restraints, which is why, since my time in the Assembly, I have continually fought to bring back our fair share of funding,” Skoufis said. “As a former town councilman, I understand the importance of the Extreme Winter Recovery funding for local budgets and was committed from the beginning to make sure this funding was secured before the end of the legislative session. In a district where a large portion of my constituents commute to work, it’s imperative that our roadways are safe to travel, and municipalities are constantly supported by the State to carry out their important work.”
