Dutchess Sheriff marine unit to patrol Hudson over holiday weekend

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office marine patrol deputies will be on the Hudson River over Memorial Day weekend as the recreational boating season opens.

“I want our boaters to have a great time out on the Hudson River, but I want them to be safe,” said Sheriff Adrian Anderson.

The 2018 recreational boating report published by the state parks department said there were 17 fatal boating accidents result in 19 fatalities.
