DEERPARK – Residents of the Town of Deerpark may now dispose of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications at police headquarters at 231 Route 209 in Port Jervis.
The program is being funded by The Rite Aid Foundation’s KidCents, which has provided the town with a free medication disposal unit. Persons may drop off their unwanted medications during business hours.
“Providing our residents with places to easily and safely dispose of unused medication is one more way we can fight drug abuse in our town and ultimately, make Deerpark a safer place,” Police Chief Richard Sztyndor.
Anyone interested in disposing of unused or expired medications is urged to call the police station at 845-856-4333 to make sure an officer is available to meet them.
