CARMEL – Members of the Brewster-Carmel Garden Club donned their
Santa’s elves outfits Friday and created a dozen holiday wreaths
that will be donated this week to the Montrose Veterans Hospital in conjunction
with the Garden Club’s 9th District Garden Therapy Project.

Gloria Bisaccia, chairwoman of the program, described the ritual of “getting
together right after Thanksgiving to assemble and decorate the wreaths
as a wonderful holiday tradition.”

Long time Brewster-Carmel Garden Club member Dimmy Lotrecchiano agreed.
“Our veterans and their families are always so appreciative of the
festive atmosphere the wreaths create while on display.”

The local club also created two additional wreaths that are now on display
at the recently installed Blue Star Memorial marker located in front of
the Putnam Office Building in downtown Carmel.
