Wrong-way driver indicted

WHITE PLAINS – A New York City man, who drove his car the wrong way on the Bronx River Parkway early in the morning of February 9 striking an SUV and injuring six people, was indicted on charges of vehicular assault and other crimes by a Westchester County grand jury.
Diego Caceres, 36, allegedly was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he drove the wrong way in the northbound lane of the parkway in Yonkers striking another SUV with six people who were visiting from Florida. Two of them sustained serious physical injuries that required hospitalization.
Caceres was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular assault, three counts of vehicular assault, two counts of driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, reckless driving and criminal possession of a controlled substance as a misdemeanor.
