Three arrested on drug charges after Thruway stop

NEW PALTZ – Three people
are under arrest following a traffic stop on the Thruway in New Paltz
Sunday morning.

During a search of their vehicle by state troopers, the driver, Daequan
Roberts, 223, of New York City, and passengers Mauvonte Roberts, 18, of
Middle River, Maryland and an 18-year-old were found in possession of
approximately 4.6 grams of crack cocaine, several glassine envelopes with
roughly 1.3 grams of heroin, approximately 5.8 grams of K2, approximately
one gram of marijuana.

All three were charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of
a controlled substance, one with intent to sell, one misdemeanor drug
count and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The driver, Daequan Roberts, was charged with vehicle and traffic violations.
He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail while Mauvonte
Roberts was held on $1,500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. The 18-year-old was
held on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
