New Paltz man arrested after vehicle crashes into apartment building

NEW PALTZ – A New Paltz man is charged with crashing his vehicle into a building at the Meadowbrook Apartment Complex in New Paltz on Sunday and then leaving the scene.
Sean Cramsie, 22, was located and charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a property damage accident without reporting it.
The apartment that was struck was deemed uninhabitable by the town building inspector. The occupants were relocated with the assistance of the Red Cross.
When police arrived at the scene at 5 a.m. the vehicle that had struck the apartment was gone, but it found in an adjacent parking lot. Cramsie was located in an apartment at the complex.
New Paltz Police were also assisted in the investigation by the New Paltz Fire Department and town and village building inspectors.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed, police said.
