100th anniversary of WWI Armistice commemorated on Veterans Day

PORT JERVIS – Public events are organized annually to allow Americans
an opportunity to gather, honor, salute, and remember the men and women
who protect America’s freedoms, rights, citizens, and way of life
every day.

Listed are some of the events in the Tri-State region which have been
scheduled for Veterans Day 2018.

Attached
is an extensively researched list of veterans from the Tri-State region
(New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) who served during World War I. This
has been gathered to salute this century-ago service, and to remember
their sacrifices in helping to achieve this historic Armistice Day via
the November 11, 1918 signing of the armistice to end the war. (Click

Sunday, November 11
Port Jervis: Ceremony at Orange Square/Veterans Park on Pike Street, was
held at 11 a.m.

Milford, PA: Wreath Laying Ceremony at City Hall, was held at 10:45 a.m.,
Parade on Broad Street, was held at 2 p.m., Salute to Vets Concert at
City Hall, 20 minutes after parade concludes

Monday, November 12:

Port Jervis: Veterans Day Parade, line up 9:30 a.m. Port Jervis Middle
School, (starts 10:30) (from PJMS down East Main and Pike Streets to ceremony
in Orange Square/Veterans Park
