The site of the former Woolworth Building, currently barricated because of the conversion work

MIDDLETOWN – Three retailers new to the Middletown area have been selected to occupy space in the new North Street promenade in the former Woolworth building.
Mayor Joseph DeStefano expects to make their names public within days.
“Leases have been let out to the winners and once the leases are signed, which we hope will be by the end of this week or early next week, we hope by mid-next week that we will be able to make the announcements and give an announcement on the progress of that Woolworth project,” DeStefano said.
Four retail spaces were created with companies interested in located in Middletown vying in a “Race for Space.” Three companies will be locating there.  One has opted to lease two of the spaces.
