CARMEL – A Garrison man is under arrest following the Putnam County
Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division receiving information that
a man living in the Garrison area of the Town of Philipstown was unlawfully
possessing a pistol.
The Narcotics Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at the home of
Brian Reiniger, 48, of Garrison on October 12 and seized a .357 caliber
pistol, three magazines, additional ammunition, and a quantity of alleged
cocaine.
Reiniger does not possess a valid pistol permit and is barred from possession
a weapon because of his criminal history.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession
of a controlled substance and unsafe storage of a firearm.
He was remanded to the Putnam County Jail without bail pending a future
court appearance.
