Two arrested in Saugerties for drug, gun possession

SAUGERTIES – Two people were arrested by members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team on Thursday night, October 18 following an investigation into drug sales in Saugerties.
Saugerties Police enlisted the aid of URGENT to investigate narcotic sales from a residence on Kelly Road.
Police executed a search warrant in the hamlet of Saxton and arrested Anne Abrahamsen, 67, and Dennis Reese, 71, both of Saugerties. Seized in the action were two illegal semi-automatic handguns, methamphetamine, cocaine, diverted opioid pharmaceuticals, psychedelic mushrooms, digital scales, drug packaging material and over $3,000 in cash.
Abrahamsen and Reese were both charged with six counts of drug possession, two counts each of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, criminal nuisance, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Both were sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
