Storm damage projects to move forward with New York Rising funds

ALBANY – Six projects in the Mid-Hudson Valley are set to begin shortly to help flood-prone communities plan and prepare for extreme weather following damage from Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
The funding is part of the New York Rising Community Reconstruction program.

The Town of Rosendale will receive $1.6 million for flood control along James Street.
The Town of Saugerties will receive $225,000 for repairs to Mount Marion Dam.
The Town of Saugerties will also receive over $644,600 to replace culverts at Platte Clove Road.
The Village of Saugerties will receive almost $364,000 for restoration of Tina Chorvas Park.
The Town of Wallkill will receive over $395,000 for backup power at traffic signals near the Route 211 and Route 17 intersection to ensure smooth traffic flow during outages.
The Town of Woodstock will receive $697,000 for infrastructure improvements along Route 212.

A state spokeswoman said several other projects will receive the funding green light in the days ahead.
