Home care aide charged with ripping off elderly woman

HIGHLAND – A Poughkeepsie woman was charged by Lloyd Town Police with grand larceny and forgery for allegedly forging and cashing checks amounting to over $6,000 from an 82-year-old Highland woman for whom she was employed as a home health aide.
Sonya Cooper, 46, allegedly stole the money over a six-month period. She was released pending a future court appearance.
