MID-HUDSON – The general election is less than a month away, and the endorsements continue.
New York State United Teachers made the following endorsements:

For US Congress, the union backed Elliot Engel, Nita Lowey, Sean Maloney, and Antonio Delgado.
For State Senate, NYSUT endorsed Andrew Stewart-Cousins, Jamaal Bailey, Shelley Mayer, David Carlucci, James Skoufis, Karen Smythe and Jennifer Metzger.
For State Assembly, NYSUT backed Amy Paulin, James Gary Pretlow, Nader Sayegh, Steven Otis, Thomas Abinanti, David Buchwald, Kevin Byrne, Sandra Galef, Kenneth Zebrowski, Ellen Jaffee, Karl Brabenec, Matthew Rettig, Aileen Gunther, Chad McEvoy, Kevin Cahill, Jonathan Jacobson, and Didi Barrett.

The New York State Union of Police Associations endorsed James O’Donnell for the House of Representatives.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli endorsed Karen Smythe for State Senate.
Thomas Basile, who is seeking the 39th State Senate District post, is endorsed by Democratic Monroe Town Councilman Rick Colon, former Democrat Monroe Mayor James Purcell and former Democrat Stony Point Town Supervisor Geoffrey Finn. Basile has also been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
