NEW CITY – An international traveler who has been confirmed to have measles has visited several locations in the Village of New Square, potentially exposing others to measles from September 28 through October 1, Rockland County officials said.
The person arrived in Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport and may have traveled to other areas of the airport before traveling to Rockland.
Anyone who visited Bais Medrash in New Square Friday through Sunday, September 28 through October 1; a sukkah adjacent to Avir Yokov Boys’ School in New Square; or Refuah Health Center in New Square, should contact their doctor, the officials said.
Individuals are considered protected or immune to measles if they were born before 1957, have received two doses of measles, mumps, rubella vaccine, have had physician or provider-confirmed measles, or have a lab test confirming immunity. Persons who are not immune to measles and were exposed are at risk for developing the illness.
