MID-HUDSON – The third-quarter of this year has proven to be the
busiest in the Hudson Valley Film Commission’s 19 year history.

Ten productions were shot in part or in total during the period resulting
in hundreds of locally hired actors and crew members, over 10,000 rooms
rented at local hotels and other hospitality venues, and using, among
others, Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, Tech City in the Town
of Ulster, Umbra in Newburgh and Woodstock Film Studios.

Revenues for the quarter are expected to top $15 million.

Hudson Valley Film Commission director Laurent Rejto said the region has
so much to offer a film shoot.

“You have all of these beautiful locations; natural landscapes,
but also historic towns, and you have mansions and you have West Point
and you have the river and the streams; it is such a bounty of different
locations, and if you want a city or an inner city, you can find that
as well,” he said.
In the last three months, “The Dead Don’t Die,” was
filmed in parts of Ulster and Dutchess counties. That production featured
top stars including Selena Gomez, Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny,
Steve Buscemi, Tilda Swinton, Danny Glover, Tom Waits, Iggy Pop and over
450 extras.
