CHESTNUT RIDGE – A Washingtonville man was killed just after noon on Saturday as he stood behind a car in Chestnut Ridge.
Ramapo Town Police said Sean Spillman, 28, was standing behind a Ford that was pulled over on the side of Scotland Hill Road in Chestnut Ridge when a Hyundai driven by a 67-year-old Spring Valley man struck Spillman, who later died at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
The Hyundai then struck a second pedestrian, a 61-year-old man, also from Washingtonville, who was treated and released with minor injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit is conducting the ongoing investigation.
No summonses or criminal charges were immediately filed.
