Bookkeeper charged with charging personal purchases to boss’s credit card

MONTICELLO – A Jeffersonville woman was arrested by Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of scheme to defraud and grand larceny.
Patricia Vanpelt, 50, who was the bookkeeper at a local business in Callicoon, allegedly used her employer’s credit card number to make several purchases for herself. Some of those purchases were caught on video.
To date, deputies allege the thefts to be over $3,000.
Vanpelt was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
The investigation is continuing.
