Two Westchester men arrested in Kingston for possession of stolen gun

KINGSTON – Two men from Westchester County were arrested by Kingston City Police following an altercation between several people on South Manor Avenue last Thursday evening.
During the investigation, police conducted a traffic stop near Cornell Street and Tremper Avenue and arrested Asa Gibbons, 27, of White Plains and Alexander Kelly, 31, of Dobbs Ferry after a loaded .45 caliber handgun was found. It had been reported stolen in South Carolina.
Both men were charged with several counts of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property. Gibbons was also charged with false personation.
Uniform Patrol Division officers were assisted by the Kingston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and Detective Division and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
