STEWART AIRPORT – Norwegian Airlines is terminating its service
from New York Stewart International Airport near Newburgh to Edinburgh,
Scotland and Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Flights to Dublin and Shannon, Ireland and Bergen, Norway will continue.

“Our affordable US flights were launched with the prospect of a
reduction in air passenger taxes that was unfortunately postponed by the
Scottish Government,” US Norwegian Director of Communications Anders
Lindstrom told Mid-Hudson News. “This has forced us to fully withdraw
our transatlantic services to/from Edinburgh as it would not be a sustainable
operation.”

The last flight from Stewart to Edinburgh is scheduled to depart March
29, 2019.

Norwegian is also discontinuing Stewart to Belfast service after this
season.

The European discount airline began service to New York Stewart International
in the summer 2017 prompting the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
to speed up plans to build a segregated international arrivals wing on
the passenger terminal.
