WAWAYANDA – A public hearing is scheduled for next week in the CPV power plant’s air permit renewal case.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation denied the company’s air permit renewal. Plant operators are seeking a hearing on the decision.
Two sessions will be held on Wednesday, September 26 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Orange County Emergency Services Center in Goshen.
Pramilla Malick, founder and head of the Protect Orange County organization, which has been fighting the Wawayanda facility, requested the hearing be moved to Middletown “where the most number of impacted residents are located.”
The electric generating plant on Route 6 is not far from the Middletown City border.
