NEWBURGH – Jonathan Jacobson’s win over four other Democrats Tuesday, putting him on the November election for the 104th District Assembly seat, can be credited to the issues he raised.
Jacobson, currently a Newburgh city councilman, said his issues resonated with the voters.
“Reforming how we fund schools to do away with the property tax to fund our schools,” he said. “We need to pass laws to protect us from the excesses of the Trump administration – from reproductive rights to healthcare to the environment, and we must expand the free college tuition at state schools to part-time students so more people can take advantage of it.”
Republican Scott Manley, a Newburgh town councilman, will be on the Republican line in November.
