NEW WINDSOR – Assembly candidate Colin Schmitt is on his fourth pair of sneakers by walking the 99th District knocking on doors as he approaches election day in November.
Schmitt said going door to door is the best way to get his message across.
“Going door to door the reception has been phenomenal. Personally, I am hitting hundreds of doors a week. I am on my fourth pair of sneakers; I am doing so many miles a day.”
Schmitt, who is running on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party lines opened his campaign headquarters at Five Corners in Vails Gate on Sunday.
He faces Matthew Rettig in November. Rettig is running on the Democrat, Working Family and Women’s Equality Party lines.
