STEWART AIRPORT – Independent Helicopters, which currently rents
hangar space at New York Stewart International Airport, is going to build
a heliport on land it purchased from the Town of New Windsor immediately
adjacent to the airport.

The owner and chief pilot of Independent Helicopters, Heather Howley,
hopes to start building her 8,000-square foot hangar on the three-acre
parcel shortly.

“We have 4,000-square feet of open hangar space that will have our
helicopters in and then eventually turn into an event space as well. So
we can do events there and weddings and all kinds of fun stuff with the
helicopters as a backdrop,”
In addition to her Stewart operation,Howley also has a facility in Saratoga
Springs.
