Man found dead in Esopus was homeless

TOWN OF ULSTER – The man
who was found dead in the Esopus Creek in the Town of Ulster on Wednesday
has been identified as a man who lived in a nearby encampment for homeless
people.

State Police spokesman Steven Nevel identified the man as Matthew Hultz,
32. A man alerted police that his friend had fallen into the creek.

Hultz’s body was recovered and it was determined that he had drowned
with no signs of injuries or trauma.
