Sharpe: “Just add money,
corruption grows”

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Amid reports suggesting Crystal Run Health Care
received state economic development funding in return for campaign contributions
for Governor Cuomo’s re-election, Libertarian gubernatorial candidate
Larry Sharpe Tuesday called for an end to those types of grants.
Sharpe stood in front of a Crystal Run medical building in the Town of
Wallkill and called for an end to the “horrible environment”
in New York.
“The idea that the Empire Development Corporation is the only way to actually make things work, that’s the problem. These economic development corporations are literally Petri dishes for corruption. Just add money; corruption grows.”
Sharpe said the state does not need the economic development corporation to dole out funding. “We’re saying be good to the king so he will share his largesse on you,” he said of the way he believes Governor Cuomo operates.
