Family and friends cheer the cadets as they complete the march

WEST POINT – The six weeks, unofficially known as Beast Barracks,
ended for members of the US Military Academy Class of 2022 on Monday.

In full gear, they marched the 12 miles from Camp Buckner and passed
in review by the superintendent’s quarters.
Cadet basic training is considered one of the most demanding challenges
the cadets will encounter during their four years at the academy.
The new cadets are trained in basic military skills that prepare them
for entry into the Corps of Cadets.
Members of the Class of 2022 will be officially accepted during the Acceptance Day parade this Saturday, August 18.
