CARMEL – Everyone who drives into the Carmel Town Police headquarters
will now remember Police Officer Gary Pietropaolo, who was killed in a
motorcycle crash on June 7.

He was riding his motorcycle in the Town of Kent while off duty when the
accident occurred. He was 29 years old.

Town officials approved the honor with the street dedication this past
week.

Pietropaolo graduated from Carmel High School, attended Marist College
in Poughkeepsie where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal
justice and graduated from the Westchester County Police Academy in 2011.

Prior to working in the Carmel department, he was an officer with the
SUNY New Paltz Police Department.
