WHITE PLAINS – Westchester County and the 43 nurses it employs reached agreement on a six-year contract with the employees’ bargaining union, the New York State Nurses Association.
The pact runs from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2021 and includes zero percent retroactive pay increases for 2016 and 2017 and 2.5 percent raises in 2018, 2019, and 2021 and three percent in 2020.
The contract affects nurses in public health, social services, Westchester County Community College and inside the county jail in Valhalla.
The pact gives them “a fair wage and stability for years to come,” said public health nurse and NYSNA member Rosemarie Camia.
“Westchester residents rely on nurses when they need them most,” said County Executive George Latimer. “I am proud that we reached this deal which will allow these hardworking folks to do the important job they are tasked with while also keeping in mind the cost to the taxpayers.”
