GOSHEN – The opioid epidemic
has prompted the Orange County Legislature to create a Special Committee
on Opioid Addiction.
Lawmakers voted unanimously on Thursday to approve the committee, which will address key issues, said Republican Majority Leader Katie Bonelli.
“For the most part, their focus will be on awareness of the resources that are currently in place throughout Orange County to be able to help those people in need,” Bonelli said.
The committee will consist of the commissioner of social services and four legislators.
