GOSHEN – Two Orange County residents filed a class action complaint in State Supreme Court in Goshen on behalf of residents of Sapphire Nursing Home in Goshen, maintaining the facility failed to properly care for its residents.
Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP of White Plains, represents William Jenack and Mary Rice.
“Sapphire padded its profits by reducing staffing levels to unsafe levels,” said Jeremiah Frei-Pearson, a partner in the law firm. “Through this lawsuit, we intend to hold Sapphire’s owners accountable for valuing profits over people – and we intend to help the victims of Sapphire’s poor care by obtaining a court order requiring Sapphire to provide sufficient staffing and operate a safe nursing home.”
The law firm credited Assemblyman James Skoufis and his staff “for their strong advocacy on behalf of Sapphire’s elderly residents.”
