KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston are investigating what they are calling a “BB gun war” in the Elmendorf Street area.
In the last few days, police have responded to several calls involving people displaying and shooting BB guns. The incidents have caused damage to property and minor injuries to people.
Police have been told that several neighborhood “kids” are participating in the “war,” which has the potential to turn into a dangerous situation quickly.
“If you know who is participating in this or you are a parent of one of the kids that is joining in this behavior, we ask you to take action and take the BB gun away before someone gets seriously hurt or worse,” police officials said on the department’s Facebook page.
Authorities are concerned situations could “turn tragic very quickly” when people report someone with a gun before it is determined to be a BB gun.
