Fire that killed man in Esopus “likely electrical”

ESOPUS – The fire that destroyed a home at 719 Old Post Road at 2:30 in the morning of July 10 and claimed a man’s life was likely electrical in origin, detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office have concluded following a preliminary investigation.
Juntao Xu, 62, of Queens was found dead inside the burning residence.
Two other people inside the building escaped uninjured.
