PORT JERVIS – If you haven’t paid a parking ticket that you got in Port Jervis prior to four years ago, you are in luck.
The city council voted to implement a two-month amnesty on penalties, said Mayor Kelly Decker.
“Beginning July 15th through September 15th, anybody that has tickets prior to September 2014 will be able to relieve those tickets without any of the penalties that are charged on them after they go into scofflaw,” he said.
Decker said there is “a substantial amount” of outstanding parking tickets dating back more than four years and the city wants to wipe them off the books.
