Tieger (1929-2014)

TIVOLI – The reconstructed Broadway Bridge in Tivoli was dedicated Monday to the memory of former Village Trustee Bernard “Bernie” Tieger. The bridge pays tribute to the man who served the community for many years and was instrumental in planning the village’s centennial celebration in 1972.
Tieger served the community with “a fierce loyalty and tireless passion,” said Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro.
“It was an appropriate dedication and an appropriate designation for a man who contributed and really made a difference in the life of the village,” Molinaro said.
The bridge was originally built in 1929 and needed major repair due to structural deficiencies.
