TOWN OF WALLKILL – Medline
Industries, a large medical supply distributor, wants to relocate from
the Town of Wawayanda to a new 1.3 million-square foot facility off Route
211 in the Town of Wallkill.
The company is seeking a 15-year PILOT and sales tax exemption on building
materials from the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, which
accepted its application on Thursday.
IDA Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso said Medline would like to stay in Orange County and grow its current workforce of 340 by some 100.
“They are a good employer in the community and would like to stay,” Villasuso said. “They have offers from Pennsylvania and New Jersey to move and they would like to stay in Orange County so we are excited that they are looking to stay and expand in Orange.”
The Medline facility would be self-funded at a cost of $115 million.
An original proposal to build in the Town of Hamptonburgh was rejected by that town board.
