ALBANY – Two corrections officers sustained minor injuries when an inmate at Great Meadow Correctional Facility tried to take a gun from one of them, according to officials.
The incident was said to have occurred last Friday morning at Albany Medical Center where the 27-year-old prisoner, who was serving a five-year sentence for felony assault in Westchester County, had been taken for medical reasons.
Even though he was restrained in a hospital bed, he tried to grab an officer’s gun. He was subdued and restrained with the assistance of a second officer.
