FISHKILL – A 20-year-veteran of the Village of Fishkill Police Department was arrested on Friday on a felony charge of grand larceny for allegedly stealing $36,720 from the police department’s Police Benevolent Association while she served as treasurer.
Lori Bailey, 47, of Highland Falls, allegedly wrote a PBA check for $33,000 to her mortgage company and another one for over $3,300 made out to “cash.”
She was arraigned in Fishkill Village Court and released on $1,000 cash bail.
“I am definitely disappointed,” said Fishkill Mayor James Miccio. “You never want to have one of your officers on the wrong side of the bench.”
Bailey has also been a part-time officer in the Highland Falls Police Department. She also faced similar charges with that union, according to a person familiar with the situation.
