KINGSTON – The Ulster County Conservative Committee, Wednesday
night, endorsed Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum, a Democrat, for re-election in
November.

The county Republican committee has also lent its support to the sheriff,
who failed to secure his own party’s endorsement when it backed
former State Trooper Juan Figueroa instead.

The county Independence Party has also endorsed VanBlarcum for another
term in office.

“I made a promise 12 years ago to be the best sheriff of Ulster
County to all our residents that I could be. I continue that promise,”
he told Conservative Committee members Wednesday night.
