WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was found guilty in Westchester County Court today (Thursday) of the murder of his housemate in that city in November 2016.
The jury returned the verdict just before noon against Clifford Ali, 54, in the death of Martin Lisnak, 74, on November 21, 2016. Ali is scheduled to be sentenced in July and faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
Police received a 911 call from Ali after the murder saying a man he identified as his “father” had been beaten up. When police arrived on the scene, they found Lisnak naked, dead, and appearing to have been severely beaten.
It turns out the two men were not related, but just roommates.
Police located Ali who had blood on his hands and three bloodied canes. There was also blood spatter on the walls in the room where the victim was located.
The medical examiner ruled the cause of death was blunt force trauma. He had a fractured arm and hemorrhages and had at least 15 to 20 wounds to his body.
