KINGSTON – State Police have arrested a Town of Olive man on a
felony assault charge for allegedly injuring his seven-month-old son.
The child, who was in the care of Ernest Williams III, 19, was located
in their home on May 1 in semi-conscious state.
He was transported to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston and later flown
to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition where he underwent
surgery for injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
Williams was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail
pending a future court appearance.
