ALBANY – Three more Republican chairs have lent their support to Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro in his bid to secure the GOP nomination for governor.
With weighted voting his camp said he has 82.34 percent of the Republican vote.
The latest three to back him are Doug Colety, chairman of the Westchester County Republican Committee; Rich Andres, chairman of the Niagara County Republican Committee; and Christine Benedict, chairwoman of the Albany County Republican Committee.
Molinaro and State Senator John DeFrancisco are vying for the GOP endorsement to run against the Democrat designee. Actress Cynthia Nixon is hoping to defeat Andrew Cuomo in the bid for their party’s line in the November election.
