MOUNT VERNON – A New Rochelle
woman has been arraigned in Mount Vernon City Court for allegedly stealing
over $300,000 from two Mount Vernon businesses.

Westchester County district Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said Patricia
Hunt, 70, was charged with felony grand larceny.

It is alleged that while a bookkeeper for Artisan Restoration Co., Inc.
and E. Gargiulo Interior & Exterior Restoration Co., Inc., in Mount
Vernon, she stole the money by writing checks on the business and personal
accounts of Enrico Gargiulo to “cash” and deposited the money
into her accounts or cashed the checks without permission.

The company restores churches and other buildings with a focus on architectural
millwork, stained and leaded glass, painting and marble.

The thefts took place over the course of six years from January 14, 2011
to August 14, 2017.

She was fired by the company in the summer 2017 after working there for
20 years.

She was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment.

If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in state prison.
