HILLSDALE – A 63-year-old
woman was killed when the car in which she was riding was struck by another
car on Route 22 near Sawyer Road in the Town of Hillsdale. The crash resulting
in the death of Donna Segschneider of Hillsdale occurred around 1:10 p.m.
on Saturday.
Her husband, Gus Segschneider, 69, was driving northbound when a car driven
by a 75-year-old Great Barrington, MA woman, going southbound, crossed
into the northbound lane striking the other car, State Police said.
Gus Segschneider was transported to Albany Medical Center. Police did
not say if the other driver was injured and if so, to what extent.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Austerlitz, Hillsdale and Greenport
fire departments, Community Rescue and Life Net helicopter.
