NEWBURGH – Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY18) has asked the US Postal Service to resolve delivery problems residents are experiencing ranging from delayed delivery to the total disappearance of packages.
Maloney’s request comes after receiving complaints from residents in Middletown, New Windsor and Westchester County.
“Resource challenges and a changing market obviously make it tough for USPS to keep up, but older Americans waiting on medication and folks waiting for important paperwork don’t have the luxury of dealing with long delays,” Maloney said.
He said he has received some 24 complaints from Hudson Valley residents over the past few months ranging from late deliveries of packages to packages arriving at the wrong address.
Maloney is not the only federal lawmaker concerned about post office deliveries. Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D, NY17) has been complaining for months about delivery problems in Westchester and Rockland counties.
