TOWN OF GOSHEN – A 58-year-old
Monticello man was struck and killed by a passing vehicle Tuesday night
as he was finishing up a paving job along Route 207 in the Town of Goshen.

State Police spokesman Trooper Steven Nevel said James Demmer was hit
by a northbound vehicle around 8:30 p.m. in a dark area with no street
lights. Demmer was wearing dark clothing.

Nevel said there does not appear to be any impairment on the part of the
driver of the vehicle; however, the investigation is continuing.
