Pair arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin and K2

TUXEDO – Two Newburgh residents have been arrested on felony drug
charges after they were stopped for vehicle and traffic violations while
driving on the Thruway in the Town of Tuxedo.

State Police pulled them over before 9 p.m. on March 24.

The driver, Humberto Borges, Jr., 41, and passenger Danielys Melendez
Ortiz, 19, were charged with drug possession; the charges against Borges
are felonies while the drug possession charge against Melendez Ortiz was
a misdemeanor. Borges was also charged with vehicle and traffic violations.

Police seized 65.8 grams of heroin, some 4.7 grams of cocaine and 3.5
grams of K2 – synthetic marijuana.

Borges was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail while Melendez
Ortiz was released on an appearance ticket.
