NEW CITY – Some 2,000 people from across Rockland County rallied on Saturday as part of the national March for Our Lives movement organized following the Lakeland, Florida school massacre.
Nicole Kissik of New City organized the rally when she realized students in the community were not planning anything.  The mother of two and former school teacher said the event, in New City, was to rally for anti-gun violence.
She said they support the Second Amendment. They opposed bump stocks and back stronger background checks, larger wait periods and mental health checks when people purchase firearms.
Several local people spoke out in the wake gun violence.
